vintage medal 1976 SPVGG Untertheres 1st International Wandertag. Germany hiking

Description

Here is a souvenir from the 1st International Wandertag, held in 1976 in Untertheres, a district in Germany. This was a hiking or walking event. The SPVGG acronym on the medal refers to Spielvereinigung, which is German for "sports club." This item is made of some kind of dark metal, possibly bronze. It is 4.5 inches long and 2.75 inches wide. I do not see a way to hang it from clothing, but on the back I see some spots of what appeared to be dried glue, so there may have been a pin.
