NICE Original EAST GERMAN Leather Mosin-Nagant Rifle Sling 1940's Rusian

Bit of Cold War History here!  After WW2 the East German (DDR) Military was slowly being re-equiped with Soviet equipment. This included the Russian Mosin Nagant Rifles.  This sling is for one of those rifles and has the proper length for a Model 91/30 rifle and will also work on the shorter M44 and M38 Carbines often seen in DDR service..  While the rifles were for the most part Russian... accessories like slings were manufactured in East Germany for DDR Military Use.
NOTE... Some folks claim these were manufactured in (West) Germany for Russia as war reparations... and that is wrong.  They were made in EAST Germany for DDR and Soviet Block use.
This sling is nicely marked for the Freiberger Lederwerks in Freiberg DDR, These date from the late 40's but the date stamp on this one is a bit smudged so I cant read the last number of the date... maybe 1948? or 49.  These are by far the most attractive Mosin slings found and this one is no exception.  It shows just a tiny bit of use/wear and the leather is sound and supple like it should be.
