  • Condition: Speakers are in good working condition. I have not attempted to "max" out the volume, but have turned it up to about 1" of cone movement. Surface has a number of small nicks to the finish (none are deep), bottoms are scratched alot, one tweeter has small area of damage (1/2") to the rubber cover but this does not seem to affect play.

    Description

    I purchased these recently to upgrade my home audio system. They sound great, and they are by far the best set of speakers I have ever owned, but they are so valuable, I am having difficulty justifying keeping them. I tested CD's playing through a Denon AV Receiver.  NOTE: These speakers are sold through a dealer network of home theater system installers, so the retail price is artificially high to protect their dealer channel. If you search online, they go for 5K new, but only about 00 used.
    The finish is very fine, with exception of the bottoms, each speaker has about a dozen small nicks (that might be wet dry sanded out). Also there appear to be some smudges of "superglue" on the finish. These smudges are of unknown origin, and are UNDER the front covers (if I had them)

    Note: The tweeters are original, but look slightly different than others I can see online. This model was introduced in 2002, so it's possible 7 year warranty has expired and these tweeters were from early versions. I have submitted request to tech support to date the speakers based on SN. Will update listing when available.
    Note2: It occurs to me that the reason the bottoms are so scratched, is that they have nothing to protect them. These speakers were designed to sit on stands! (Not included)
